The national self build & renovation show

Updated:5th September 2019No Comments2 Mins Read

The National Self Build & Renovation Show - lets-do-diy.comIn the current climate, more people are looking for affordable alternatives to upgrade or extend their homes, or move up the property ladder. With land, construction labour and material prices currently favouring the buyer, its no surprise that more frustrated homeowners are turning to self build and renovation to get their dream home at an affordable price. Self build and renovation has really taken off through the recession and for those who have not yet realised the benefits of building – or rebuilding – their own home, BuildStore has put together a packed Show guaranteed to inspire you!

Whether its building a home from scratch, doing some serious home improvements, converting or renovating an old property to create a stylish new home, The National Self Build & Renovation Show (February 26 – 28th) is packed full of ideas, inspiration, and information.

Each day, the Show has four theatres hosting seminars from more than 25 specialists; live demos featuring installations of hardwood flooring, wood-burning stoves, insulated brick-slip cladding, and living roofs; walking workshops through the self build education zone; and over 250 companies showcasing their products; and one-to-one appointments with over 20 industry experts and professionals.

As one of the most popular events in the Centre’s calendar, you can expect to see all the big names, such as EDF Energy, Potton, Wolseley, Homebase, Velux, and Baxi and the experts on hand to share their self build and renovation wisdom include architects, project managers, Building Control officers, SAP Assessors, mortgage advisors, and CAD Designers.

Visitors can also take a guided tour of the EDF Energy Renovation House and the exclusive self build education journey; see live building demonstrations, check out hundreds of products in the Trade Village, examine the structure of the timber Wolseley House and hear the trials, tribulations and successes of other self builders and renovators.
