Quilted Velvet wins gold at 2009 flower show

Updated:5th September 2019No Comments1 Min Read

Quilted Velvet toilet tissue is proud to announce its Gold medal win at the prestigious RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show this year, with a thought-provoking conceptual design by esteemed garden designer Tony Smith.

The impressive show garden, the second in this year’s triptych which will conclude at the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park in a fortnight’s time, was carefully designed to bring to life Quilted Velvet toilet tissue’s commitment to ensuring that three trees are replanted for every one it uses.

Striking elements of the garden include the rich carpet of 30,000 miniature oak trees and the imposing frame of green oak structures which protect the seedling trees, echoing how Quilted Velvet protects and manages its forests responsibly.

Tony Smith, the Quilted Velvet Garden designer, comments: “I am thrilled to have won this gold medal for Quilted Velvet! We are very proud of the garden – every aspect of the design was intended to communicate Quilted Velvet’s commitment to the environment, and it has definitely been commented on as one of the most innovative show gardens this year.”

The Quilted Velvet Garden is at site number GW1 at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show on 7-12 July 2009.
