Howden Joinery Group has announced it expects profit to comfortably beat market expectations after sales rose in the second half of 2010.
The focus of the business is supplying kitchens and CAD (computer aided design) services directly to small builders and homeowners via a network of over 490 local depots.
Tony Blue of lets-do-diy.com says the growth is due to two factors. “With the housing market currently depressed, more people are choosing to improve their home rather than move. Secondly, there is an increase in the number of people willing to install kitchens themselves.”
According to Dean Sanderson, Chairman of the Lancashire & Cheshire branch of the NAEA, “A good kitchen could potentially add between 5% and 10% to the value of a property.”
