Keen DIY enthusiasts hoping to decorate their houses in the near future could look back into history to get ideas for their new projects after details of the Very Sanderson: 150 Years of English Decoration exhibition were announced yesterday (December 7th).
Taking place in London’s Fashion and Textile Museum, the showing will look at English decorating traditions and trends over the last century and a half, particularly focusing on Arthur Sanderson and his famous fabrics company.
Curator of the exhibition, textile writer and academic Mary Schoeser said: "Even those who think they know the Sanderson story will be surprised to find just how great the company’s contribution was, not only in matters of design, but by being in the forefront of technological developments."
Vast collections of fabrics and wallpapers will be showcased during the exposition, which could prove to be inspiration to DIYers looking for ideas for their latest redecoration schemes.
Sanderson was established in 1860 in London’s Soho Square.
